I want to share all of the tricks I discovered along the road to utilize the limited area and get the most bang for my buck so that you can create your own home gym without breaking the budget.
Why Should You Have A Home Gym?

How can you get started?
- Select the available space or room in your home that you wish to turn into a home gym.
- Mind map your home gym structure.
- Decide your color theme, the placement of your equipment, and which kind of equipment you would like to have as per your workout routine.
- Take inspiration from different bloggers.
- Make a Pinterest board and gather all your ideas in one place.
- Make a list of the equipment you would need to buy, the things you already have, and things you can recycle!!
Prep your space:
This step might seem unimportant for most of the people but in my case, this part had most of my attention. As a person, I can’t decide how to proceed next if my first step is not up to the mark.
Prepping your space for a DIY home gym includes:
- Deep cleaning of the space.
- Taking proper measurements of the room.
- Painting the walls if required.
- Mark the points where you need to install shelves, frames, etc.
- Making proper electric wire connections.
- Choosing appropriate holders for LED lights and lamps.
Most important tip: Test your floor space by doing some exercise there to get to know if your space feels restricted or not.
How to buy equipment under budget?
Who claims that fancy or costly equipment is necessary for an effective workout? There are many options available for sure that will provide you with desirable outcomes that too under budget. There are also plenty of inexpensive options available, ranging from resistance bands to dumbbells and everything in between, you just need to do thorough research on brands, the quality they provide, and the price range they offer to their customers. Watch for items on sales and promotions to avail discounts so that you get machinery and other weight equipment that align with your budget and workout routine at great prices.
What to add first?
I would always prefer to add the big stuff first, despite of the fact that you have already made a rough structure of your gym but the things that look smaller on the map might cover more space in real. Add big stuff first so that it won’t make your gym look cluttered!!
The random and basic equipment installation sequence that I might suggest would be like treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, place these items against the wall leaving some space around for movement.
Maintenance and upkeep
Everything requires care and maintenance and so your created with love home gym. Once your home gym is all ready for use, it’s really important to keep it maintained through regular service. For this, you just need to follow your daily cleaning routine like checking for signs of wear and tear, wiping down equipment, keeping the walls, rugs, and mats dust-free so that you can have a hygienic surrounding all around.
